28 Aug The Michelle McGann Fund Announces Campership Grant to Camp Fitch YMCA

The Michelle McGann Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization supporting children and families affected by a type 1 diabetes diagnosis, today announced a Campership Grant to Dr. Barclay’s Camp For Children With Diabetes, a diabetes-focused program of Camp Fitch YMCA.

The 2026 grant fully covered camperships for seven (7) children with type 1 diabetes to attend Camp Fitch’s 2026 session, held on the shores of Lake Erie in North Springfield, Pennsylvania. Operating at Camp Fitch since 1977, the program pairs a traditional camp experience with round-the-clock care from a medical director, nurses, and a dietitian, helping campers build independence in managing their diabetes.

“Every camper deserves the chance to just be a kid for a week — swimming, making friends, trying new things — without diabetes calling the shots,” said Michelle McGann, Founder of the Michelle McGann Fund. “We’re proud to help send these kids to Camp Fitch, where they get that experience alongside the medical support their families can count on.”
