The Michelle McGann Fund, Inc. exists to serve the diabetes community. Born out of a desire to advance diabetes awareness, education and research, The Michelle McGann Fund encourages and supports organizations with similar missions to promote improved diabetic health. Through the judicious use of donations and efficient awarding of funds, it also promotes improved diabetes management.
Diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 13, pro golfer Michelle McGann identifies with children and adults dealing with Type 1 diabetes. Familiar with the struggles of conducting life as usual, and especially for diabetics pursuing an active lifestyle or participation in sports, Michelle realizes the benefits that specialized diabetes treatment offers and the importance of diabetes education and research.
She’s been dealing with diabetes as a successful USGA Junior Girls Champion, and for 26 years in the LPGA and Legends Tours. As such, Michelle is well familiar with the importance of stabilizing blood sugar levels to promote current health and avoid debilitating secondary health complications later.
The Michelle McGann Fund cares about the diabetes community. Our efforts are focused on the spiritual, emotional and financial needs of individuals dealing with diabetes and are born out of first-hand experiences with the disease. The Michelle McGann Fund is deeply committed to seeing the fruits of its labors, to promoting its partnerships with other likeminded charitable organizations, and to pursuing advancements for diabetes research, education, treatment and awareness.
Desiring to promote improved management of the disease and drive effective diabetes treatment protocols, The Michelle McGann Fund began in 2012. The Fund is powered by individual donors and corporate contributions, as well as Michelle’s company appearances and charity golf tournaments that directly support the nonprofit organization.
